WHEN TO USE
In South Africa onions can be grown successfully all year round. Be patient though, it takes between 4 and 7 months before you can harvest.
HOW TO USE
As onion seed is very fine it should be sown thinly over the bed and then covered by a 2cm layer of seedling mix which should be firmed down over the seeds. The ground must be kept moist during the first six weeks of growth as the onions root systems are very shallow and soil drying out might cause them to die.
Use fresh seed and thinly sow over the prepared bed, cover with seedling mix and pat down firmly.
